Cris Grixti – Practitioner

Cris trained as an actor at The Arden School of Theatre before embarking on a career in performing, and as a teacher of drama.

As an actor, Cris’ versatility has enabled him to perform a wide variety of roles on stage and screen. His theatre credits include TeechersBouncersA Month Of SundaysRipping YarnsBlood Brothers, Our Day Out, and Abigail’s Party. On screen, Cris has featured in Shameless, and has appeared in the independent films Three DegreesSixes and Sevens, and McQueen. He has also toured nationally with a number of theatre-in-education companies.

Principal roles in musical theatre productions include Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Fagin in Oliver, Fat Sam in Bugsy Malone, Malcolm in The Full Monty, Rooster in Annie, Cookie in Return to the Forbidden Planet, Jesus in Godspell, Action in West Side Story, Ugly in Honk, and Luntha in The King And I. Cris originated the role of Ashley in Innit The Musical at The Lowry, and performed off west end in Head.

In addition to his acting, Cris also works professionally as a singer, performing regularly as a solo artist and with a band at functions and events across the UK.

Throughout his career, Cris has remained active as a performing arts tutor. Previous posts include teaching Drama and Musical Theatre for NK Theatre Arts and for Dance at the Smithy, and he has taught freelance at schools and community groups across the North West.
